HOLISTIC THERAPIST | ARTS PRACTITIONER

Pamela Schaap

Pamela Schaap is a Ghanaian-Dutch holistic healer and theater maker with a deep passion for personal and collective transformation. As the founder of MAWU, she combines practices such as movement, meditation, mindfulness, yoga, creative expression, and ancestral rituals to create transformative experiences that support healing, self-discovery, and reconnection.

Inspired by her spiritual connection with her ancestors — one of her purest sources of guidance — Pamela creates spaces where people are invited to return to themselves. Rooted in the understanding that the body remembers, her work gently supports people in reconnecting with their body, spirit, emotions, and inner wisdom.

In addition to her group work and retreats, Pamela offers 1-on-1 healing sessions and guides transformative journeys inward, creating space to go beyond the surface and explore deeper emotional, energetic, subconscious, and ancestral layers. Guided by the Ubuntu principle — “I am because we are” — she seeks to reconnect people with themselves, each other, and the world around them, grounded in the belief that healing and transformation happen both individually and collectively.

RETREAT CO-FACILITATOR, SPACE HOLDER & YOGA TEACHER

Alexa Kaptein

Alexa Kaptein is a co‑creator and facilitator of the retreat, bringing together a strong organisational background with an attentive presence that helps you feel held and at ease throughout the retreat experience. She offers practical guidance and gently holds the holistic flow of the retreat, connecting food, accommodation, logistics, and your personal retreat experience. She feels a heartfelt calling to this retreat in Ghana, carried by the roots and stories woven through her mother’s side of the family.

Alongside her facilitation role, Alexa is trained as a yoga teacher. She guides grounding morning and evening flows that invite you to arrive in your body, cultivate awareness, and settle into a deeper sense of presence.
